Fishing, going out on the lake, spending time with friends and family, more hours in the sunlight, getting a tan...
And best of all! My Birthday, which is tomorrow. And Father's Day, which is this Sunday. I must say that the middle of June truly is the best time of the year. There is a strong and special bond between Daddy and I because of me being born on Father's Day and that makes him a very awesome birthday gift and I am a pretty awesome father's day present!
Happy Father's Day to the Greatest Daddy a gal could ask for!
(a few days early, who knows when I'll get on here again)
“...So do we pass the ghosts that haunt us later in our lives; they sit undramatically by the roadside like poor beggars, and we see them only from the corners of our eyes, if we see them at all. The idea that they have been waiting there for us rarely if ever crosses our minds. Yet they do wait, and when we have passed, they gather up their bundles of memory and fall in behind, treading in our footsteps and catching up, little by little.”--Stephen King

Saying "Good-Bye" to my Twenties aka HAPPY NEW YEAR!
With the close of 2009 comes the realization of 2010 and that in 6 months (give or take a few days) I'll hit the big Three-Oh.
My twenties were not the funnest years of my life. I've been through heart breaks and trajedies and more major surgeries than any normal person would have in thier entire life span. But I must say the last 3 years of my twenties have been the greatest by far.
Should we do a little recap? Ok, we shall...
Upon ringing in the year 2000 I was in Chicago. Seems insane that my twenties should "begin" and "end" in the same place. I was visiting Crystal and on medical leave from the Hospital back home. I was taking some "time to myself" due to the upcoming treatments for cervical cancer that was found Late November 1999. We were waiting on a million test results (one of which to see if had the HPV virus that can cause it-which turned Negative) and back then test results were so much slower than they are now!! The Dr. started me on medical leave with a bag full of meds and told me to go on a vacation and relax. Being strung out and stressed wouldn't help my prognosis or treatment. It didn't help of course that Hephaestus and I had split up around the same time as the diagnosis due to him cheating on me with Coolio's girlfriend... I turned 20 in June and the cancer treatments stopped. I was living in Arkansas again but didn't have a steady place of residence but I was still at the hospital working my shifts and doing my best to survive.
2001 saw me getting married and losing my job at the hospital and working at a liquor store and walmart while I lived with my parents in Arkansas and H lived with his dad in Maryland. This lasted for about 9 months before I moved to Maryland at the end of 2001.
2002 was a blurr of drama. I do not recall much. We did alot of moving first TO Virginia then a few places IN Virginia... I worked for KMart for about 3 months and quit. lol yea. But H had a great job and we made great friends but it was all dramadramadrama between Baer and his women and H's family...
2003 saw me leaving Virginia and moving back to Arkansas. It also saw me raising 2 boys as my own when H's brother lost his kids due to thier living conditions early in the year. It also saw me dealing with cancer again. I lost 90% of my cervix, had my "other areas" scraped and cut out on the Eve of Christmas Eve.
2004 brought with it tons of medications from the cancer treatments and then fertility issues. I was still raising 2 boys as my own. I helped H's mom get a branch of a staffing agency up and running to be shunned from the position promised to me as she gave it to Mars' wife to help them get thier kids back...
2005 came the end of fertility treatments and a sense of hopelessness for my marriage and my ability to have kids. we "had a break" and i ended up in chicago for a few months while the boys went back to thier parents as "a trial run". Upon my return to Arkansas H and I divorced, I lost the boys forever but I gained new friendships, refound old friends and lost loves, found new "love" and lost 100 pounds. but I severly injured my back that year.
2006 was rang in with my new found friends and tons of medication and physical therapy. I saw Pebbles and Neopolitan get married this year. it was also the year I realized I couldn't do hard labor anymore and I needed another way to make money. I ended up moving to Chicago permanantly and I worked 2 jobs to make ends meet while living with Crystal PLUS auditioning for bands.
2007 was a blurr. I worked too much. I partied too much and I gained weight as my back issues started to trouble me again. It was also the year they found tumors in my uterus causing me to go back on medications. Raquel and Hunter married this year and I met Taranis and fell in love. and more band stuff...
2008 found me in Taranis' arms on NYE. We moved into our first place together. I lost a dear friend due to thier inability to be happy for me. I started injections and more PT for my back. I gained more weight. I was laid off from the Engineering firm. I quit the spa. I went back to the spa and I got promoted into Accounting. We hastily moved from 1 place to the next when we found out our landlord hadn't been paying the mortgage and we were served with eviction notices.
2009 came with more pain that I could ever imagine. Both physically and mentally (Home sickness). Raquel graduated from college. Pebbles announced her pregnancy and gave birth. Taranis asked me to be his Bride. ArmyBro was cut from the list to go overseas and fight which meant he got to stay home. And I had my spinal fusion. Homer was fired and replaced by Savannah who is driving me insane...
So how could 3 years of solid PAIN be the best 3 years of my life so far? I spent them with a man who completes me. Who loves me. And has never once turned his back on me when I needed him the most.
Cheers to 2010! Cheers to me turning 30 and getting married (again). Cheers to my resolve to lose the weight (AGAIN) and try to have a baby (again) and please lets not forget the "no pain!". And while I seem to have a ton of "agains" in my future staring am me I am sure that I'll get it right this time and will not have to repeat all this again in my 40s!

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas!
I love my man so much. He gave me this awesome necklace yesterday he came by my work to give it to me...
I know you can't see the wording very well but it says "I Love You" and has a Pink rose engraved on it.
We made chexmix stuff today and Joe made homemade cinnamon buns!
Our neighbors created a giant snowman...as you can see its giant...
And you know nothing says christmas like holiday candy mix in a festive cute mug on the table and eggnog!
Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and A Joyful Yule to all my Pagan Friends!
I definatly pride myself in being a versatile pagan and I am so blessed that my fiance and I can share in this Holiday together altho it does mean different things to each of us.

tis the season for handcramps
Yup, just finished writing out my envelops to send off holiday cards...I'm late getting them out this year because I've been waiting for people to send me thier info cuz thier asses moved and I haven't gotten it... SO I blasted out a post on FB something about if you didn't get a card its your own fault cuz when I asked you didn't give me your address....same goes for wedding invites.
My list for wedding invites seems longer than my list of holiday cards sent out...I need to revisit that list and make some edits I believe.
so BioMom asked me what I'd like if she got me something for christmas and I said I need new work clothes because I'm trying to get a promotion. And she asked where I shop and I said mostly WalMart but Kohls would be cool and so would Target and KMart...so she sent me a giftcard to WalGreens. I know, I know, I should be thankful I get anything at all.
Anyways. I just find it ironic she asked me where and I said other stores and she sent me the one store I never shop at... NEVER shop at. Unless we're desperate to try and find something and have exhausted all other stores!!
Speaking of shopping......I've got errands to run. I'm either going to A-print off wallet sized pics of me and Joe at walgreens and send em with the cards to our families B- see if they have a giftcard to another store I can use this one to purchase or C- buy silly little presents to send to our siblings.

Turkey Day and re-found friends
I for once do not feel "overly" stuffed. I am not turkey day miserable.
Why?
We toned down our turkey day festivities this year to minimal basics: mashed tators, green beans (instead of the normal green bean caserole), candied yams, rolls, the turkey of course, devilish eggs, apple pie and "stuffing"...we should have put it in the bird. but we didn't.
Oh freakin well. We'll never buy that kind again. It was waaaaay over powering outside of the bird cooked by itself. I normally make a big huge dressing casserole with celery and chicken and onions and all kinds of good noms in it but opted out of that as well. We didnt do corn which is usually a staple and we didn't have mac n cheese either.
we have ALOT of turkey left. instead of 14 meals like we did last year (i'm estimating cuz we have 7 rationed this year - we didn't take the bird and boil it this year for as much meat as possible just the legs and wings for my turkey noodle soup tomorrow) but still. its alot of bird for 2 people. i'm grateful to his work, but it was too much!!
so now that turkey is over i just had to put up the stockings and the tree for christmas/yule/winter holiday.
From the top: Red = Kai, Fish = decoration, Green = Drake
Middle: Green = Joe, Pink = Me
Bottom: the hamsters Nilla and Lo-Jack
i can't wait until tomorrow when we start to trim it. (yes, my door is open with it being freezing outside. the oven has been on all day and its a sweat lodge in here!)
gotta have sugar cookies too!! this is the first batch :-)
Everlight called me today. I've been trying to call him and get back in touch since Pebbles gave me his number when she ran into him at wallyworld. so I texted like a gazillion peeps (i might have accidentally included Joe's ex and mine--but they havn't said anything) with a cute pic of me and Joe together wishing everyone a warm and happy turkey day blah blah. And what do you know, not to long after that Everlight rings my phone!!! I miss him terribly. We use to be inseperable and if I needed someone or needed someone we were always there for each other 100,000% as best friends. Hephaestus started ruining that when he accused me and Everlight of having an affair before me and him married. But Everlight NEVER let H ruin our friendship. And for that I'm thankful that after 4 years of not seeing each other he and I can just pick up where we left off and we've not changed so much that we can't still be besties. He would be one of the driving forces that would lead me back to Arkansas. To have him in my life again as someone that I know i could count on and be in our lives. He's never did me wrong and vice versa. I miss my Everlight. I hope we don't lose touch again!! Him calling today has to be THE best thanksgiving wish come true yet!
How was your turkey day? Is your tree up yet?

As normal we ended up devouring the devilish eggs looooooong before the turkey was done. We were salivating!!

spooky graveyards and scary pumpkins!!
I was so super excited about carving the pumpkins that some of the pictures are a little blurry I couldn't stop shaking!!!
Taranis did the Spider and I did the Joker.
After the pumpkin carving he made pumpkin pie from the meat of the pumpkins after we carved them!! He is so super handy in the kitchen <3 pie crust and filling from scratch!!
While we were waiting for the pumpkin pie to cook, we put together our spoooooky graveyard infront of the house!!!

and then we enjoyed our pie!!
I figured that since I made ya'll all kinds of hungry with the chili I'd make you guys even more off the wall hungry with the Pie... Except Bayjb who doesn't like pumpkin!!!
Ok, I gotta finish the green!!! I am sooooooo close and between carving pumpkins and buying the graveyard stuff and putting everything together I have totally slacked on finishing the green on the crocheting and starting the yellow....aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

I've been doing some decorating!
Inspired by the gloomy horror movie weather Taranis brought in the Halloween storage box and I set out to start decorating! It also helped that we went to Halloween Town and saw a rotating head zombie baby!!! I was gonna take a picture of it but the people were eyeing us... needless to say I'd just gotten out of the shower, hadn't brushed my hair yet and was wearing my pajamas it was cold outside and i had on my biker jacket and lol my sandals! I didn't expect us to stop in at a store on our way to Taco Bell. That was a spurr of the moment choice because the meat had ruined in the freezer *ugh*... so dinner that I was gonna cook was halted and nothing else to eat!
So anyhoots! we saw ALOT of stuff that I can only imagine buying... I know that year after year I'll get a little more and a little more!! This year we're gonna buy some spooky fake tombstones! We're gonna set it up in front of the sliding glass doors. I can't wait! Its gonna be so awesome. I just have to hold off until next paycheck. UGH 2 weeks!! Kill me now while I roll around and die in suspense!!
If you follow this link it should take you to the public official Halloween 2009 folder. Its facebook. But it says if I give you this link you should be able to see the pics... You should request to be my friend if you havn't already!!
There is a house we noticed last year on the way/to work that goes ALL OUT with Halloween and Christmas... And while we can't put christmas lights outside they never said we can't inside (association rules) so we'll put em around the windows inside the house. And maybe if we can find somestuff to put in "our yard" (aka infront of the sliding glass doors) we can have a winter wonderland aswell... Listen to me! already planning out christmas in my head! And I just started on Halloween!!!
OH... we can't wait to have babies and share all of this with them as they learn and grow!!! Trick or Treating and costume shopping and decorating!! Its gonna be AWESOME! We're gonna be amazing parents!! (eventually)

taste pictures and video!
follow this link to my fb photo album to see pics of us roaming the city and the sears tower(add me as a friend if we're not already)... goto the photobucket page to see fireworks pictures...
never again will i try to upload video using anything BUT this new place i found... 10 hours later i finally remembered i have photobucket and it took 10 minutes to upload and it only uploaded the 1st 5 minutes leaving me frustrated. that was it. not the whole thing, so i've been on a rampant search trying to find something to share this video with you all... a search that started when we got home from grocery shopping 8 hours ago or whenever it was and its now almost midnight...
anyways, please watch this 20 minute video of friday's fireworks since i went through "hell" to get it here for you....
with sound, just over 20 minutes using blackberry
removed the imbedded... follow this link:
(will auto play can't help that...turn volume on mute if you don't want to hear it...)
there are other videos on this site as well that is from me, vids of the kittehs and another shorter vid of the fireworks without sound taken with the digital camera.
enjoy!!

my only wound is on my right foot, 3rd toe...
yesterday morning came early as we got up and got ready for the taste. we knew it'd be packed and crowded and didn't want to have to fight the crowds...
our game plan: leave early, leave hungry, get in early, chow down on some grub and then explore Chicago, watch fireworks and go home.
we did all that and more
first we walked from the millennium garage where we safely parked our car near the exit to the surface (fast entry fast exit -- or so we thought) and walked to the main gate of the taste. after being told hatefully by some large black woman "its closed until 11pm you can not go in, go away" i smarted off "i'm just taking a picture lady, chill out, we weren't planning on going inside, yet" and i finished taking my picture and we walked away towards... the road that makes me think of Bilbo Baggins...
once we made a left onto that street and we came upon lake shore drive... OMIGOD that is alot of street and alot of cars! but with the help of a FRIENDLY crosswalk guard we made our way safely to the other side of LSD!
onward our journey to see the sail boats which were 50 feet infront of us now in the water and that 50 feet being water... (note: i have no idea of actual footage this is a guestimate if my numbers are wrong, keep them to yourself, thanks!!) i want a boat badly!! and this just helped enhance my hunger!!
we continued down the walkers path until we got to shedd aquarium. we WERE going in there but there was a line 50 miles long because of special holiday weekend pricing (bastards) and so we decided to pass. and the museum of something right next to it, we passed on that cuz joe's not a huge fan of museums. i got to see soldier field from a distance!! it was pretty awesome. then we strolled through grant park.
please keep in mind we arrived in chicago at like 9:00 am
so the taste doesn't open until 11 and we're still walking towards LSD. its about 15 til 10 now and we cross back over LSD to the "land" side. then we walk the block(sss) around the taste and finally end up somewhere not far from the funky looking ampitheatre to wait out our fate. here it is 10:30 am and we are exhausted. boy do we have a long day in store for us!
after what seems like 15 hours instead of 15 minutes they call for people to start lining up at the entrances and make an announcement about drinking plenty of water and how they must search all bags, etc etc. another 15 minutes that seems like 25 hours this time and the flood gates open, literally!!
the 1st thing we tried was the frozen chocolate dipped bananas. then we had garlic mozzarella bread. next came mozzarella cheese sticks. free cup of amp energy drink. then we had chocolate and caramel popcorn. next came hushpuppies. we scored some homemade potato chips. finally we had stuffed sausage then stuffed spinach pizza. and our hunger was sated for a moment.
it was beginning to get crowded (that's funny right?) and it was after noon. we'd only been IN the taste itself for roughly an hour and 20 minutes?? wow it didn't seem very long at all!
next we headed into downtown to see the architecture and just roam around. we had no idea where we were going until joe had the bright idea to see the sky deck at sears tower.
we got there after an hour of walking so its about 1:20 or so in the afternoon and there is a long line but we figure, we got time to kill til the fireworks so we'll wait. the line moved fairly rapidly. we were at the door in 15 minutes. then in the elevator in 15 minutes. once downstairs i'd say it took about 30 minutes to get from one compartment to the next and then the movie so about an hour traveling under the tower to get to the elevators. and we must have had perfect timing because the next thing you know there is a door that opens and this man says "you guys from me back i need about 50 people, we're forming another line" and guess what? in 2 minutes (1 to walk to elevator and 1 to go up in elevator) we were on the 1st skydeck. 99th floor.
omigod i was 99 floors up in the sky! people looked like ants and cars looked like matchbox toys!! you shoulda seen the taste from up there!!
then we traveled to the 103rd floor where the skyboxes are... i could only do 1 of them but joe did 2, there are 4, 1 was out of commission. the other had a family that wouldn't move...
and down we go!! it took 10 minutes of standing in line for the down elevator.
and we were beginning to be a little hungry but ignored it because it was only 3pm or so... we walked back towards LSD taking more pictures and dunked into barnes and noble to check out a comfy couch but they were all taken so we bought me "the talisman" by stephen king and peter straub (i have "the black house" already and loved it, didn't realize i was getting part 2 instead of part 1 but thankfully you don't have to read 1 in order to get 2 but some parts did leave me a little lost)
anyways, its about 3:30 now and we decide to find us some grub. we walk along the road we parked under (is that michigan?) but couldn't find any resturants we'd want to try out... and re-passed the main entrance to the taste. we were not going to go back in at first because all the crowds but when it looked like that was our only chance at putting our hunger to rest...
so we snuck in through the backside and eyed a ticket booth with no one at it (this part of the taste was dead, if you can believe that... being near the ferris wheel and all) got us some tickets and away we went!!
he scored some pork tacos and i got some orange chicken. delicious! and then we went and had icecream while we staked out a spot on the grassy knoll behind the fountain out on LSD.
it was about 4:30 once we finally crashed onto the spot we deamed ours for the night. we laid down and relaxed. my feet never thanked me enough for finally putting them up! we waited on the grass for over 4 hours. joe eventually went back and got us fudge and that was the end of our tickets.
there was a fight that broke out behind us on the otherside of the bushes. the cops couldn't keep it contained. finally they got it settled after what seemed like an hour and they walked them right in front of us! some of them, not all of them... tassers out and all. it was very unreal.
that's when they closed down LSD and people were playing in the street-ahem highway-er freeway??...
then another boy, he looked all of 14 with "gang gear" that the other ADULTS were wearing that were just escorted away, was suddenly rushed away after a loud bang and the cops swarming around us.
for the record: i have never seen that many cops come rushing at the same time. never in my life. and someone screaming he's got a gun and someone being carried away on a stretcher. i almost didn't stay for the fireworks. but it was getting dark and i'm kind of glad i did wait.
que 20 minutes of awesome fireworks
after the fireworks there were more "bangs" could have been fireworks, could have been guns, who knows. i just know that cops were around with tons of tasers and somehow we got shoved into a group of those kids wearing what the others were wearing "gang gear" that had gotten in trouble. i had never been so scared before in my life that i was going to be shot instead of the person they were aiming for and be the "wrong place at the wrong time" girl dead on the local news.
finally we got to the blazer and then we were stuck in another line. it look over an hour for them to clear the streets enough for people to be able to get out of the garages.
on our way home we almost ate the ass of the mustang we were behind in the garage. trust me, i know that mustang i almost had its liscense plate memorized... we were cruising down 290, i'm texting about the gangs on facebook then traffic stopped suddenly with squeeling tires in front of us with cars on both sides -it was an accident. joe slammed on the brakes which woke my ass up (i was drifting to sleep while texting) and i knew we didn't have enough time to stop so i'm holding the door screaming "oh god oh god oh god oh god" and he swerved to the right and barely missed the mustang infront of us and the car next to us by mere inches. my life was flashing. i almost didn't have to use the bathroom anymore. if he would have hesitated just a second on what he was going to do, i would have been the fleshy middle of a car pile up. i think the SUV behind us might have crashed into the mustang...
i havn't been brave enough to look on the news about last night's gang stuff and then the 290 stuff... i think in this instance, ignorance might be better than knowing. and i'll be happy i wasn't shot, mugged or raped and in the end of the night i didn't die in a horrific car accident.
i'll also be happy that after walking from 9am to 4:30 pm the only wound i have is a blister on my right foot, 3rd toe...
ps pictures come later...
our game plan: leave early, leave hungry, get in early, chow down on some grub and then explore Chicago, watch fireworks and go home.
we did all that and more
first we walked from the millennium garage where we safely parked our car near the exit to the surface (fast entry fast exit -- or so we thought) and walked to the main gate of the taste. after being told hatefully by some large black woman "its closed until 11pm you can not go in, go away" i smarted off "i'm just taking a picture lady, chill out, we weren't planning on going inside, yet" and i finished taking my picture and we walked away towards... the road that makes me think of Bilbo Baggins...
once we made a left onto that street and we came upon lake shore drive...

2009 Is Here
So I guess I should say... Happy New Year!
we went out last night and watched the movie "Bedtime Stories" it was very cute and very funny! and it might also be the only movie i've ever seen Adam Sandler in that he wasn't cussing worse than a sailor.
I'm slightly moody this new years day, i took my last of my monthly pills yesterday morning and the day after is usually a nice swing into the ugly green monster land... and sure enough, i didn't even see it coming and there she is. the smallest things bring her into life the day after the last pill. thankfully i have a man that understand that this can not helped and it is chemicals and medications that i have to consume the last 5 days of every month.
so my 1st new years resolution I guess would try (again) to get my doc to take me off the pills at my next appointment in June. Which... depending on what we decide I guess I could go on different medication (in conjunction with the meds i'm already on) that would kind of enhance the ugly green monster just the slightest. Yes, I'm speaking of fertility drugs. 2009 could be the year we get pregnant. Or it could be another year that I stay without child. And i don't want to think about it right now, cuz i'm missing my family ALOT right now. And when i'm home sick the ugly green monster seems to be amplified.
Back to the last day of 2008...
Woke up at 5:30 am to take Joe to work. We went and got coffee first which was a very nice treat. Dropped him off about 6:30 and waited at the mechanic's until about 7:15. After about an hour he came in and said "I know what's wrong with your truck: #1 you don't need a front end alignment and its not the missing lugnuts/bolts causing your truck to shake badly. Your passenger tire is seperating, the belt is broke. Most likely a pot hole did it. #2 you need a complete new set of front brakes, etc. Your rear brakes are fine. All that combined with the oil change and the routine maintenance your bill will be about $250." I said "whoa, seriously? that's like $100 less than I estimated from prior work" and he just smiled. I was seriously in awe. I love my mechanic (for vehicle purposes only).
Now I just need to buy 2 new tires to replace the one that keeps going flat (slow leak) and the one that seperated which happend to be the spare in the 1st place! I've had such horrible luck with tires on that blazer that I kept having to rotate the front tires between the good ones and the spare. What's now the passenger front will become the spare and we'll buy 2 new tires for the front. My rear tires are still in very good condition (thankfully) and I'll get the tires next month. Our budget is shot to hell right now for January.
I then went to walmart and traded back a christmas gift (I got the same book from 2 different people) and got us some Fritos and Quesa dip to go with the Subway sandwhiches I got us for lunch.
After chatting it up with some folks from his work and waited on the last load to pick up we went to the market and got us some alchohol for new years eve. Then we went home and then to the movies. After the movies we made dinner and I drank 2 pineapple coladas and 4 mudslides and still didn't get drunk. Slightly buzzed and very sleepy!!! Joe had a whole bottle of wine to himself and got very buzzed.
I was starting to feel something after the 2 colodas and the 1 mudslide but then we --we had some fun-- and it was all over after that. I couldn't get more buzzed than I was!
We accepted defeat about 11pm and went to sleep. During which I ended up turning off my phone because every 5 minutes someone new was calling or texting me. I have never turned off my phone before. Even on mute/vibrate it was waking me up vibrating on the carpet. I woke up this morning about 7am and crashed out on the couch next to Joe playing our game. Finally turned on my cell about 11am and surprisingly no voicemails!
And here I am! hopefully the ugly green monster has showed herself for the last time today (my computer was dying on me and turning itself off and I was bitchy and joe wanted to help fix it and i wouldn't let him and it was just nasty but he still loves me!) and eventually he did get it fixed. And my battery is working fine now (grumbles) but his is not (laughs). Oh well, stupid technology.
We had french toast this morning and i'm cooking the blackeyed peas and ham right now in the crockpot. its' making my tummy talk it smells so good!!!
Joe's mom gave us her old digital camera (which is twice better than the one we did have) it's amazing and an Olympus. Gave us extra batteries and memory cards as well as a case to keep it in, etc.
So to make a long post even longer here is my list of things to accomplish this year (I have no resolutions, thier made to be broken) in no particular order:
*get off the medications
*become healthier and more fit
*get the medical bills paid off
*either be pregnant or have given birth by 2010
*buy a new vehicle by next winter (and try to keep the blazer, too)
*have more money in the savings account
*be even more valuable to the company I work for
*visit each family atleast once
*post more to my blog

where is the storm?
Pro: So the bigman sent out an email today and told everyone to stay home tomorrow because of the weather.
Con: That uses a day of my PTO that I finally just got, sigh.
Pro: The office is closed next week on Wed, Thurs & Fri. I'll have a week's vacation. Nice huh?
Con: Again, I didn't forsee the days off and don't have money to visit any family in other states.
Pro: We're caught up. I mean literally I billed today what happened yesterday.
Con: I no longer work on Monday until we get back into the busy season. And I start 30 minutes later a day the other 4 days a week.
Ok that's it. I was going to talk about something that happened at work yesterday and today. But I think I'll just keep it to myself for now. I'll most likely get it out of my system tomorrow in the "private" journal. Since I dont feel comfortable talking about it publicly yet.
Tomorrow I'll definatly be wrapping presents. I got Joe the final gifts I needed to get him. I also bought myself 2 new shirts to go with my "suit" for when I do the Pre-Con meetings (which are short for pre conference --thier meetings that the main contact comes in the day before and sits down with those who are running thier conference and the person who'll be doing thier billing, etc. they can be either really interesting or really boring) and I also got myself 2 new shirts for every day wear at work.
I can't wait til next week when we do presents! I'm gonna take pictures of us opening our stuff and post em!
OH! I am so STUFFED. He got a gift certificate for Outback Steakhouse... I got a sirloin, medium rare, love it when it's bloody! Thier garlic mashed tators are to die for. And the meat was so tender and juicy and perfect. And don't get me started on the Blooming Onion. I'm having that for breakfast! And I had a Smore Cosmo --I want those for New Years! Just give me a gallon jug full of it, rofl. Joe got a blueberry cosmo and it was really delicious too.
ok, my bloated ass is going to go play sneezy now...

yea ...sure...
so i seemed to have failed to mention that on the way home from the holiday party on saturday we witnessed this chick going down on a guy while he was driving. i mean total full force her half naked ass peaking over the window and all. it was sick --as in make me barf.
my man cooked dinner tonight. he's so awesome.
my feet are cold. i don't think it'll ever stop snowing. its like a foot already out there. i hope we get snowed in! that'd be too awesome to spend all day wrapped up in bed together...
Our office is officially closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and the day after as well as the normal weekend of Sat & Sun. THEN we are closed on New Years Eve (which means all day cooking the Lasagna for me) and we are closed New Years Day.. however we unfortunatly have inventory on the 2nd (Friday) but it's possible we can go home early instead of having it a full day. how sa-weet?
Eventually the weather has got to clear up or i'll NEVER get the rest of Joe's presents bought nor will I get by the bank to cash the $$present$$ his momma sent us so I can buy some warmer shirts for work --brrrr in that office brrrrr--
Miss Nilla (or was it Drake?) has been finding a way to open her cage door at night. I hopefully have it locked up tight now. We'll see. Monday morning she was literally, out of the cage and moving her food from her wheel that's ground level to a corner. This morning her cage was open but she was asleep in one of her towers. --She scares me. If this keeps up I might ask Joe if we can trade them cages. Lo-Jack's seem to be more tight and he has no interest in being outside of that cage. However she wants out sometimes.
Crazy animals. Crazy people. Just craaaazay!

thumpity thumpity thump thump
lol, i love watching the movies i grew up watching. I hope thier still around for when Joe & I have kids. That's why I want to buy the classic christmas box set that's out there --anyone wanna get me that for christmas?? The Charlie Brown Holiday Box Set and the Classic Christmas Movies box sets.
We did the Secret Santa drawing today at work. I got one of the execs --he's retiring in January. It's his last holiday with us and I draw his name! How funny is that? I was really scared I'd end up drawing the Head Exec over my department but thankfully didn't.
Well, everyone else is talking about Holiday Traditions so I'll talk about our Holiday Traditions.
Growing up we'd ofcourse have Thanksgiving dinner like everyone else, we'd usually have it around Noonish to 1pm to ensure lots of snacking! The night of Thanksgiving or the day after we'd put up the tree. That weekend we'd decorate the outside of the house. I don't remember alot of details regarding ornaments, etc but we always had a pretty unique tree and very eclectic.
Christmas Eve was spent with Aunts and Uncles and family cheer and opening up gifts from them. While Christmas Morning in my opinion was the greatest. Daddy would make Mickey Mouse pancakes for breakfast... Actually, he still does! Thier's nothing better than waking up Christmas morning and tearing into presents in your jammies and eating pancakes!
Well, that's the tradition from when I was kid. Nothing real exciting.
Joe and I are working on creating our own little traditions that will hopefully be with us until our grandchildren are having grandchildren and thier grandchildren! (i know, getting carried away there...)
Last year was a bust because Joe spent Turkeyweek with his family in Florida while I spent Christmasweek with my family in Arkansas.
This year we started to cook our Turkey about 11 am (?) and ate dinner about 5pm. Which was just right. I ended up starting to put up the tree around 2 am, lol. Technically it was Friday (which is the agreed date to put up the tree between us).
I've made 3 batches of Sugar Cookies so far this year.
We have a beautiful tree we found at the perfect price. We have Candy Canes, Icicles, various sized balls and other "traditional" glass/plastic ornaments. We have 2 "special" ornaments: one is Bumble the Abominal Snowman from "Rudolph and the Misfit Toys" (my most favoritest holiday movie) --I feel like Bumble sometimes...misunderstood and lonely. And we also got a Siamese Cat that looks JUST like my Drake from when he was a younger kitty. He's 8 now.
We plan on getting 1 special unique ornament a year. I love the ones we have so much right now (the plain/traditional balls) that I think next year we'll be set and not have to spend so much money!!! Altho I'm definatly getting a different tree topper. I loved the Star we have in the store, but it's lacking something and I really think I want an Angel (but I call em Fairies *giggle*) that lights up next year instead.
We have the stockings, mine is purple joe's is green and drake's is a fish. we have a red one for Nilla and another green of a different style for Lo-Jack. But Nilla & Lo-Jacks are the same style while mine and Joe's are the same styles... Maybe next year we'll get more unique ones to represent us but for now these will do, I couldn't find any that I liked but these.
I guess it's time for pictures now .....

By this time tomorrow we'll be schmoozing it up with Joe's co-workers... wish me luck!
