I am so pleased to announce that *my* part of the bridal party is finalized!!
We have: CandidBeauty, Suga, Jack and Hal.
I am so thrilled and I am so extremely happy these ladies will be sharing my special day with me and all the things from now until the big day!!
I do believe I have the perfect bridal party (on the bride's side).
However, I do not know how on earth I'm going to decide which one will be my Matron/Maid of Honor.
Ya'll got any suggestions to help a bride out??

“...So do we pass the ghosts that haunt us later in our lives; they sit undramatically by the roadside like poor beggars, and we see them only from the corners of our eyes, if we see them at all. The idea that they have been waiting there for us rarely if ever crosses our minds. Yet they do wait, and when we have passed, they gather up their bundles of memory and fall in behind, treading in our footsteps and catching up, little by little.”--Stephen King

I am crappy at planning anything, so I can't help ya there. Sorry.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on getting the bridal party together!
ReplyDeleteI would have sworn I was following your blog, but apparently blogger was not cooperating. Blogger and I am not speaking at the moment. But NOW I am following your blog!
I am so excited for you. I can't offer any advice out of fear it may backfire on you.
ReplyDeleteWhen I got married I couldn't choose between two very dear gf's of mine. So I asked them both to stand up for me. Well, apparently one of my friends (no longer my friend) thought this was an insult to her superior friendship to me. She not only said no to me, but then refused to be part of the wedding.
Her daughter was a flower girl so of course this was awkward. On my big day she actually made her daughter late for the ceremony. I almost gave up and started with out her (flower girl I mean). What a selfish brat.
You are a wonderful person. I know that your friends will be honored no matter what.
My little sister was my maid of honor, and I did it because she is close to my heart. But being that she was in a different country and only 13 at the time, she wasn't much help when it came to actually helping me plan, lol. One of my sister in laws, who was also in my bridal party ended up playing the role of key helper, for which I am eternally grateful. So I don't have advice for you, except to say do what feels right.
ReplyDeleteI'm just thrilled I get to stand up with you. Really, it means soooo much. Let me say that another way- I'm honored as fuck to be a part of your bridal party and will help you however I can.
Mejis: I'm good at planning but not executing! That's why I'm figuring it all out and then MomI is going to execute what I want.
ReplyDeleteE: Thanks!! I know, I was wondering why you stopped coming by, I was beginning to get sad :(
Lyn: Yea, I'm afraid of feelings being hurt. I almost had 1 disaster where it looked like Suga wasn't going to be apart of it because of Jack (its a long story but we use to be 3 inseperable friends) but we finally got that taken care of! Now, I just hope that whatever I do doesn't offend anyone. I know that Hal, Suga and Jack all want to be the "it" girl... And I know that CandidBeauty would be honored to be but she wouldn't be "offended" if she wasn't chosen...
CB: Raquel was my Maid of Honor the 1st time around. Her and Feather are going to give me away.. I'm going to be emailing out some stuff later for ya'll to look at to see what I've got planned so far :D Like I said before, it wouldn't be right if you were not part of my wedding! It felt like something was missing until I asked and you said Yes!! I keep getting teary eye'd just thinking about you up there with me!!!
I was thinking...if one is married and one is not you can have both a maid of honor and a matron of honor, so that would be 2 out of 4, right? haha
ReplyDeleteNow, the other thing to remember is to pick someone who will really help you and totally be there for you. (No offense to anyone on the list as I don't know any of them! LOL) I don't know about you but I have some really close friends who I love dearly, but who I wouldn't be able to totally count on 100% either because of their current situation or because they just aren't those "reliable" people. Ya know what I mean? Because nothing is worse for your wedding and for your friendship with that person than to pick someone and for whatever reason you cannot rely on her 100% or you have constant run-ins with over everything and you end up destroying the relationship. It so isn't worth it!
My matron of honor was a huge mistake and in the end it did destroy our relationship...we haven't spoken in over 9 years now.
I'm sure whoever you choose will work out perfectly!!! :D
Congratulations!!
j'lynn you and my IRL friend Hal help'd me so much in making in this decision!! thank you!
ReplyDeleteBlaez...you are welcome! Anytime! :D
