100 bucks application fee, fuck you

and that's all i have to say about that bullshit.

sigh, long story but we ended up driving to schaumburg today, taranis took a long lunch and in the end, a marvelous apartment, young lady didn't know what she was doing when she was trying to sublet her apartment and all in all we left not happy and i'm sure she wasn't either.

there is another place that we're looking at today when he gets off work. i think its in the same general area. the pictures look nice, its from a private homeowner. so we'll see how that pans out.

i've called and left a message for the guy in addison who showed us his condo. still nothing.

i had a mini breakdown yesterday after we looked at a place in glen ellyn. (that guy was super nice btw, but he's a realtor so taranis thinks it'd be hard to get into... he seemed to like us. we'll see what happens)

ok so about my breakdown. it was mini. not like i sat here and bawled for hours upon hours altho i feel like it. but taranis and i had a talk and he said that if i'd rather goto school and get a degree in something instead of getting another fulltime job and keep my weekend job that was fine by him. if that's what made me happy do it instead of looking for a job that i don't want. i'm so very tired of corporate america and working in an office. i'm so very tired of all that bullshit.

so! today my job (besides finding us a place to live) was to decide what career I want to go back to school for so i am doing what i should have done 10 years ago. I am going into Nursing. it was LPN that i was registered with then but I'm going full on to get my RN and I'm going to secondary in Phlebotomy & Radiology. get my bases covered.

why medical? why nursing? because its something that i enjoyed when i worked at the hospital in arkansas. its a very noble career and its helping others. i want to feel like i'm making difference. the money is good and you can find a job anywhere when your a nurse. there is always docs offices and hospitals.

and why 3 different degrees? because then i have a choice. RN, Phlebotomist (Lab, thier the vampires drawing your blood) or Radiologist. I can "jump" around in the hospital if I wish. I feel that i'd be more valuable that way as well being flexible.

ok enough rambling... i have to balance my checkbook.

  1. Don't write off going through a realtor (he needs to get it rented in order to get paid, so he isn't going to make it unnecessarily hard to do).

Glen Ellyn is also a great community (yes, I am far less than unbiased on this point).

It is also a good base for starting off on the nursing Associate Degree (COD in Glen Ellyn is an excellent set up, and a lot of their nursing students get to work at Central DuPage Hospital, which is close by in Winfield). krm
