Church...

God is suppose to love you for you, right? He doesn't care if you black, white, asian, whatever. He doesn't care what you wear or anything... Atleast he's not suppose to (from what I've been taught) So, tell me why is it that 99% of the Church Goers I see are dressed in thier BEST cloths all dressed up like thier going to a funeral/wedding/party/banquet. Thier perfume/cologne so strong it makes your eyes water when you walk in the church.

I have sat here and watched my parents get ready for church for, 7 years now and not once have I seen them go in "normal" clothes or without first making sure thier make-up is on and the cologne doused on their bodies.

I boggles me. I don't understand it. I do not understand the rituals of Christians. I don't. When I go to church (thier are certain times of year that even I go, but its for family reasons) I put on my jeans, boots a nice shirt and I'm out the door. I don't make sure my makeup is on (don't hardly wear it) and I sure as hell don't make a fuss over my hair (never have). I dress for "them" how I dress for my own religious gatherings. Thats how I see most of us dressed... Unless its an "important" function we're not dressed up. Alot of us are greasy and dirty and grimey from work still.

So, tell me. If "GOD" doesn't care. WHY WHY WHY make such a fuss?
